I borrowed <a href="http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/toc.html?issue=85#6576">the title</a> from the great American poet Wallace Stevens, who adapted it from <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Pecksniff</span>, <a href="http://www.fromoldbooks.org/Wood-NuttallEncyclopaedia/p/pecksniff.html">a character</a> created by Charles Dickens.<br /><br />While there is some debate in the literary world about the meaning of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Pecksniffiana</span>, to me it is as clear as anything derived from poetry can possibly be. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Pecksniffiana</span> is a time, place or sense of great hypocrisy.<br /><br />Nothing has changed, but today my twitter handle becomes "<a href="http://twitter.com/ChuckThies"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">ChuckThies</span></a>."<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Will this blog continue?</span><br /><br />Not really, but some day I will transfer the archives to <a href="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1296/5182509864_d9104c34da_z.jpg">a new web project</a> where <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Pecksniffiana</span> will not be forgotten.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3369292954656395233-4309030228004210860?l=pecksniffiana.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>Chuck Thieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07568306492742801680noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3369292954656395233.post-91918778034898590001999-01-01T23:45:00.037-05:002011-10-24T09:39:58.901-04:00For the past 20 years I have applied myself to politics, advocacy, communications, public relations and event production.
